Minoxidil Formula 82M. It sounds a like a fancy European grand prix type of thing, but we can assure you that it isn’t. However, if you’re experiencing baldness and you choose to use it, don’t be surprised if your hair grows back faster than a French race car driver chasing a macaron through the streets of Monaco.

In other words, Formula 82M is an effective prescription topical hair regrowth treatment. It’s similar to Rogaine, but it’s more powerful and comes along sans some of the biggest downsides that you get with over-the-counter products.

Here at the Shiloh Vein and Aesthetics Institute, we’re pretty well known for our hair restoration among folks around Philadelphia. PRP therapy is just one of them. A benefit of PRP is that it can be used in conjunction with other hair regrowth tactics. We recommend using Formula 82M.

Let’s answer some common questions about it:

How does Minoxidil Formula 82M work?
Minoxidil was approved for use by the FDA in the 1980s, and ever since then it’s been researched heavily—but it’s still a relative mystery. While we’re still trying to narrow in on exactly why it works, we can all agree that it does work, and that it’s safe. When it interacts with follicles on a regular basis, over time it “wakes up” the ones that are resting, and it also thickens otherwise thin hair. All in all, while Formula 82M won’t necessarily grow you a full head of hair on its own, it’s powerful when used in alignment with other regimens (like PRP therapy).

How do I apply it? Rogaine hurts my scalp… Will I experience the same with Formula 82M?
No. Rogaine hurts your scalp because it contains a known irritant called propylene glycol. Formula 82M doesn’t have that. Therefore, there’s (virtually, see side effects below) no itching, flakiness or irritation involved. It’s applied much in the same manner as other topical solutions, though. It comes in liquid form, and you use a dropper that lets you apply it directly to the parts of your scalp where you need it, bypassing making a mess in your hair. From there, you wait about three hours to shower or go swimming, then you’re done!
Are there any side effects?
In rare cases, it can cause skin irritation, but that’s extremely uncommon since there isn’t propylene glycol in it.

I applied my first dose almost an hour ago, but I’m still bald!
Just try to relax and be patient. While you should start to see the effects of Minoxidil Formula 82M start to work soon after you begin treatment, they won’t fully set in until 6-12 months down the road. That may sound like a long time, but it’s really not in the scheme of things! We understand that losing hair is frustrating, but have faith.

Is there anything else I should know?
There are a lot of other little things to know about Formula 82M, so your best bet is to set up an appointment with is to discuss the treatment in detail. We’ll be able to answer all of your specific questions or concerns, and decide whether or not we think it’s right for you.
