Botox® is an injectable treatment noted primarily for the ability to reduce and smooth out the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botox® results can be seen within a few days and last for several months before a touch up becomes necessary.
Botox®, a common cosmetic procedure, works by relaxing facial muscles which lead to the formation of wrinkles and lines. It is regularly used for frown lines (creases between eyebrows), forehead furrows, and crow’s feet (fine lines in the outer corners of the eyes).
The treatment is minimally invasive and takes only minutes to complete. A fine needle is used to dispense the medication directly onto the facial muscle. Touch-up treatments are required if the patient wants to maintain results. You should not get a Botox treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Normal side effects include, pain, swelling, bruising at the injection site, flu-like symptoms, headache, and upset stomach.
Note that each photo was taken at maximum frown; results may vary for every patient.
